Birth Doula Support

Advocacy, emotional, educational and physical support throughout your entire pregnancy, birth and early postpartum.

    • One hour consultation

    • Two prenatal visits (one virtual and one in person) to discuss birth preferences & vision, childbirth preparation, techniques for labor comfort, and to create a postpartum plan.

    • Unlimited text, email, and/or phone support throughout entire pregnancy to answer any questions or offer guidance

    • On call 24/7 from 38 weeks until the birth

    • Continuous informational, emotional and physical support from the time you call me to join you in labor until 1-2 hours after baby is born

    • One in-person postpartum visit (1-2 hours) to process the birth experience, support newborn care, feeding, transition home, answer any questions & discuss if other resources are necessary (pelvic floor therapy, body work, counseling, etc.)

    • Payment plans available.

    • Sliding scale also available for those in need. Reach out and let’s work something out. We believe everyone who wants a doula should be able to have one.

FAQ’s

  • Yes, depending on how many people you plan to have in the room with you. Each hospital has different protocols, but typically in most NYC hospitals, you are allowed two support people, plus a doula.

  • Whenever you feel like the support is needed. If you’re giving birth at a hospital or birth center, typically I would come to your home first and support you during the transition into active labor.

  • Because partners know you better than anyone else, they can be great for providing emotional support in most instances. However, sometimes they are also navigating their own emotions about their loved one and child being born, so supporting you in the way you want may be a challenge. Doulas are great at helping keep partners calm and helping them help you.

    There are also many tools most partners don’t have to navigate birth. While doulas are not medical providers, we are trained professionals and experts on the subject of birth. We can provide pain management tools like massage, guidance on optimal laboring positions to help baby navigate the birth canal optimally and keep labor progressing smoothly, advocacy with hospital staff, and much more.
